Basic Qualifications:
Fabricates and assembles mechanical/electromechanical components/apparatus; troubleshoots to determine cause and remedy for malfunction. Must be capable of performing mechanical test set-up and testing. Work involves standard eletro-mechanical techniques, use of standard hand-held tools and the ability to work from designs, rough sketches and verbal instructions. High school, or equivalent, and four full years of related work experience required, with the ability to obtain a secret clearance. Preferred Qualifications: The candidate will be responsible for the build and alignment of electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical assemblies of considerable complexity. Candidate must possess the ability to use precision measuring equipment as well as general hand tools. Position calls for meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work from drawings, diagrams, rough sketches, verbal instructions as well as from formal assembly procedures and process control documents. Must be a motivated individual able to work well in a team environment. Optics experience is a definite plus.
