Position Summary:
Coordinate and strategically lead supply chain performance improvement
across and within our plants, distribution centers, and, if needed, at
suppliers. Responsible for lean production system design, effective
problem-solving techniques, the design and management of performance
improvement initiatives, training and coaching of plant personnel in all
of the above, and advising the senior executives on the nature and
progress of network wide improvement activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as internal subject matter expert in Lean principles, tools and
application methodology.
Drive development of Lean business processes to improve and sustain
performance, while ensuring alignment via establishment of effective
organizational goals for productivity and efficiency"
Periodically conduct detailed assessments of the progress of a Lean
performance culture in plants, and recommend concise action plans for
improved adoption and use of Lean principles, tools and methods.
Aggressively support implementation of those plans
Lead the education of company employees and leaders in Lean Enterprise
principles to achieve business process improvements.
Accountable for supporting business teams to identify and deliver
significant and quantifiable business process improvements through the
application of lean and six sigma process improvement methodologies.
Provide and grow expertise in analytical methodology based on data
driven decision making, including effective collection and monitoring of
metrics used to assess, prioritize and select improvement projects.
Benchmark local plant and industry best practices to measure and improve
organization performance. Coordinate all efforts with other Lean
resources and Manufacturing leadership, through effective planning and
communications
Consult, develop and ensure compliance in the use of competitive
production and performance standards.
Initiate and lead problem solving efforts working closely with internal
and external stakeholders.
Design performance feedback systems to assess the resolution of business
process deficiencies.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or related field is required.
Advanced degree preferred.
A minimum of seven (7) years related business process analysis and
improvement experience, which includes two (2) or more years
facilitation/leadership experience reflecting measurable improvements
and lean transformations.
Formal training in Lean, Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma required. Black
Belt certification required.
Two (2) or more years related Toyota Production System (TPS) experience
preferred.
Excellent organization skills and ability to effectively multi task in a
dynamic and fast paced environment.
Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and facilitate cross
functional teams through all phases of project lifecycles
