Position Summary:
Manages and coordinates activities of employees engaged in setting up,
installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment, and in
fabricating metal parts and tools. Also manages employees engaged in
maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure all processes and programs are in place and working to
effectively ensure asset reliability
Develop long range plans for capital spending including replacements,
upgrades, cost savings initiatives, and budget preparation
Ensures the Maintenance Department supports the needs of production,
distribution, and sanitation, and keeps all production equipment in
proper working condition
Accountable for the operating expense budget for the department
Ensure plant equipment and processes are in compliance with all
regulatory requirements including OSHA, environmental, health,
emissions, and Sara Lee Global Business Standards
Manages and directs staff by providing ongoing training, recruiting, and
counseling
Provides overall project management for all initiatives using either
internal or external resources
Ensures the cost and inventory of spare parts is adequate to support
good equipment reliability
Ensure the culture of the department supports a collaborative
environment with the other departments in the facility
Support the needs of the plant by participating in all strategic
initiatives
Analyze trends and identify continuous improvement opportunities
Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the SQF system
Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent
food safety and food quality problems from occurring
Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food
Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that
support the SQF system
Establishes organization-wide standards and best practices including
developing policies, procedures, and work flows
Effective managing in a changing environment. Skills include leadership,
planning, developing policies, delegation, and tracking performance
against measurable goals
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or
the equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Minimum of 5 years Maintenance Supervision experience
Knowledge of PLC's
Experience with environmental processes, electrical and mechanical
troubleshooting
Excellent PC and communication skills
Skilled at analyzing causes of variances between actual and budgeted
income and expenses
Experience developing and implementing process improvement initiatives
Familiar with the principles of lean manufacturing
Create collaborative relationships/teamwork
