Position Description
These are great opportunities in the Saint Louis / Saint Charles area of
Missouri to work on Boeing Integrated Defense and Space programs. Basic
expectations include: Performs basic structural analysis using well
defined analysis tools to develop the structural environment,
characteristics and performance. Supports test execution and
analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and
components meet requirements and specifications. Defines and documents
certification and test results to substantiate for customers and
regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied. Supports in-service
products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements. Apply
modern computer aided analysis techniques and classical analysis
techniques to ensure structural integrity and vehicle performance. Works
under general supervision. Advanced expectations include: Develops,
integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the system
design. Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the
product?s environment. Guides product design and verifies structural
integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations
and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the
structural environment, characteristics and performance. Develops test
plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports
test results to validate and verify systems and components meet
requirements and specifications. Defines and documents certification and
test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that
requirements are satisfied. Supports in-service products by
investigating failures and analyzing improvements. Works under general
direction.
Typical Education/Experience
Level 2 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification:
Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with
experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an
accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science,
mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not
required, accreditation standard. Level 3 - Degree and typical
experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more
years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or
PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science
degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer
science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred,
although not required, accreditation standard.
Other Job related information
An ability to obtain an interim and/or final clearance (post-start) is
required for this position. ABET Engineering degree in Mechanical,
Aeronautical/Aerospace/Astronautical or Civil preferred. This is a
general requisition that supports staffing requirements for several
programs in Missouri - positions may be in Saint Charles or Saint Louis.
Successful candidates will be a part of the Boeing Mechanical/Structural
Engineering team.
